The Brazos Valley Bombers scored seven runs in the third inning to help beat the Acadiana Cane Cutters, 15-3 on Saturday night at Nutrabolt Stadium.
The Cane Cutters got on the board in the first inning when Trenton Buchhorn from UT-Tyler knocked in Matthew Guidry from Southern Miss with a groundout to give Acadiana an early 1-0 lead.
The lead for Acadiana was short-lived as the Bombers exploded for seven runs in the third inning and never looked back in the game.
Hunter Uzzle led the Bombers with three hits and three RBI's in the game.
The Cane Cutters and Bombers will resume this rivalry back at Fabacher Field tomorrow night for a two-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
