Former Sweet Matt Hall Starts First Major League Game

July 29, 2020 - WALLA WALLA, Wash. - It was a day of firsts in Boston on Tuesday night. Former Sweets left-handed pitcher Matt Hall made his first Major League start for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Hall, who was acquired by the Red Sox this past offseason from the Detroit Tigers, was pegged as Boston's fifth starter this season after having an impressive showing during Boston's summer camp prior to the start of the shortened season. June 12, 2020 - WALLA WALLA, Wash. - In a shortened Major League Baseball draft, the Sweets saw three players selected in the five rounds on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Outfielder Garrett Mitchell, who suited up for the Sweets in 2017, was selected 20th overall in the first round by the Milwaukee Brewers. Sweets Cancel Season Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

May 8, 2020 - Today, the West Coast League announced a delayed start to the 2020 season, originally scheduled for June 5, to early July, as a result of the recent announcements from governing officials in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia, the states and province in which the league's 12 teams are located.
