Squirrels Fall in Road-Trip Opener, 8-4
June 16, 2026 - BOWIE, Md. - The Richmond Flying Squirrels surrendered five runs in the seventh inning and lost to the Chesapeake Baysox, 8-4, on Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium.
The Flying Squirrels (41-22) lost in their first head-to-head meeting this season against the Baysox (26-37).
The Baysox opened a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run homer by Thomas Sosa against Flying Squirrels starter Greg Farone (Loss, 4-3).

Head Coach and Chief Sporting Officer Darren Sawatzky Departs Club After Seven Seasons
June 15, 2026 - RICHMOND, VA - Richmond Kickers Head Coach and Chief Sporting Officer Darren Sawatzky has departed the club in his seventh season, after Sporting Cascades FC triggered a buyout clause in his contract. Assistant Coach Brian Ownby will be elevated to Interim Head Coach immediately and lead the club for the remainder of the 2026 USL1 season. Goalkeeper Coach Evan Munn will be elevated to Interim Assistant Coach effective immediately.
