As announced by Major League Soccer , we are in discussions with the league and remain hopeful that they will award an expansion team to Minnesota.

As you may be aware, MLS executives have stated their plan is to announce the next expansion market in the 30-45 days. MLS leadership is well aware that the passionate soccer fans in Minnesota combined with a world-class, soccer-specific stadium make the Twin Cities and our state a perfect home for the next MLS expansion team.

Both financially AND in terms of supporter expectations, a thousand times having their own stadium.

Moreover, the whispers indicate a sugar daddy or a windfall may be involved that put United in the driver's seat. I even read something today indicating that Zygi Wilf may have... well, a soccer insider indicated he never really put money down. Maybe he was expecting United to crawl to him and pay rent? I asked the one word question "lowball?" and the response was really not that, so was the stadium the only offer Wilf was making? Another one for better sleuths to comprehend.
