Atlantic League Baseball back in Atlantic City

Well...kind of...if The Sandcastle can be fixed up enough then the Camden RiverSharks will play a 3 game series over Labor Day weekend in Atlantic City. If that goes well, the Surf could return to the Atlantic League in 2013

Avs spurn Colorado Eagles

Anybody know why the Colorado Avs signed a deal with Tulsa and not the Eagles? Or, why not revive the Colorado Rage which played about 40 minutes north of downtown Denver?

Interesting cause I was at the Den in downtown Newark on Sunday...for the sole reason to attend the last Newark Bears home game in history. I spoke with two Newark ballplayers and asked point blank if the Bears players had been told that the club would be a traveling squad next season. Both players ...

The talent in the Atlantic League speaks for itself given how many ALPB "alumni" have gone on to play major league ball. Jay Gibbons with the Angels is the latest example. Top quality managers, too. As far as the Ducks, I have to agree that the ball club has been a major disappointment on ...

Another embarrassment for the Bears

I read last week where Somerset players opted to dress in Somerset and then take a bus to Newark for the game...after the game, the players bused back to Somerset to shower and change. Evidently, the A/C in Newark's visiting clubhouse was broken (during a period of 100 degree heat) and the toilets d...

Frank Bolton's impact on the Bears

Boulton wants the Bears to succeed not only this season but in the future and as a Bears fan I applaud his efforts...but, it doesn't seem like he's making much of an impact on the club. The in-between entertainment has reached an all-time low. No attempt is even made whatsoever to involve fans sitti...

AHL in Newark, NJ (?)

Seems the NJ Devils and UMASS Lowell are in contract talks over renewing the Lowell Devils lease... Devs should move the club to Newark and put up curtains to limit seating capacity like Seton Hall does. A lot of fans would go cause NHL games are just too expensive these days and the Rock in downtow...

Spencer Ross is a great announcer

Spencer Ross is doing Newark Bears play by play on the Newark Bears on line webcast... The veteran NY sportscaster is simply one of the best...easily the top Atlantic League announcer...much rather listen to Ross than Sterling of the Yankees or anybody on the NY Mets broadcast team. In my opinion, h...

Norwich, CT is leaving the Eastern League after this year.
I wonder if local officials there would be receptive to an independent league team?
