February 13, 2026 - We are excited to announce the Hill City Howlers as our new team identity and our continued Single-A affiliation with the Cleveland Guardians.
Following an extensive process, the team decided on the Howlers as the brand to rally and unite the city of Lynchburg. The Howlers are represented by five mascots, highlighted by Indy the Werewolf, who tunneled their way from neighboring Spring Hill Cemetery to City Stadium to enjoy the sport of baseball.

February 4, 2026 - The reigning Carolina League Champions in conjunction with the Cleveland Guardians have announced their field staff for the 2026 season.
Returning to Lynchburg this season are newly christened manager Erlin Cerda, hitting coach Amanda Kamekona, and assistant athletic trainer Patrick Reynolds. Joining them will be bench coach Chase Barbary, pitching coach Kevin Erminio, hitting coach Il Hor, strength & conditioning coach Avery Nevin, and athletic trainer Karina Gonzalez.

January 30, 2026 - One of the oldest stadiums in Minor League Baseball has received a face lift this off-season courtesy of the city of Lynchburg and Hillcats owner, Dylan Narang.
When the Grand Ol' Ballyard reopens for another season of baseball in the Hill City, fans will be greeted by several ballpark upgrades. Highlighting the Opening Day renovations include a brand-new scoreboard in left field with an electronic ribbon board, an expanded team store, and a Grab-n-Go dining option.

September 18, 2025 - The Lynchburg Hillcats won their first Carolina League Championship since 2017, defeating the Columbia Fireflies 8-2 on Wednesday evening.
The win marks the ninth league title in organization history. Following the final out, the 'Cats were presented with the trophy before pausing for prayer as a team. The moment displayed a microcosm of the teams lifeblood throughout the season, showcasing unity as a brotherhood.
