San Angelo got off on the wrong foot against El Paso, yielding six runs in the top of the first en route to an 8-2 loss. C Ben Rosenthal homered and drove in three to lead the Diablos, and 1B Juan Camacho homered and drove in two, going 2-for-5. Juan Pena allowed just two earned runs over six innings, striking out seven, to get the win. Alexis Guzman pitched three scoreless innings in relief to get his first save. RF Jeremy Dodson doubled twice for the Colts.
FORT WORTH 2, SHREVEPORT 1 (10) @ Fort Worth, Texas. Time: 2:48 ATT: 3,752 W: Juan Figueroa (3-1) L: John Vigue (1-1) S: None HR: FW - Bryon Smith (3)
Fort Worth and Shreveport were deadlocked at 1 in the bottom of the tenth, when 2B Bryon Smith homered off John Vigue to end it, 2-1 for Fort Worth. Erik Wikstrom and Ryan Weems each had good starts for the Sports and Cats, respectively, and neither team's offense could get anything going. Wikstrom scattered 11 hits over six innings, yielding just an earned run, and Weems gave up one unearned run on four hits over seven, striking out eight. Juan Figueroa picked up his third win, pitching a scoreless inning in relief, striking out two.
EDINBURG 7, JACKSON 6 @ Edinburg, Texas. Time: ATT: W: Roel Garza (1-2) L: Brandon Parker (1-2) S: Steve Wilkerson (13) HR: None
Edinburg trailed 6-4 leading into the bottom of the eighth, but rallied for three runs to beat Jackson 7-6. A two-run, go-ahead double by pinch hitter Ryan Owens capped the rally and handed Edinburg the win. 3B Wilson Burwell led the âRunners, going 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Roel Garza got the win in relief, pitching a scoreless eighth inning. Steve Wilkerson pitched a scoreless ninth for his 13th save. Tomorrow's Schedule (all times Central):
