December 19, 2017 - NBA G League (G League)
Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (7-9) dropped their fifth home game of the season 106-99 to the Iowa Wolves (6-9) at the Sanford Pentagon on Sunday night.

Minnesota Timberwolves two-way player Anthony Brown (25 points, six rebounds and six assists) and Melo Trimble (24 points, seven assists and five rebounds) paced an Iowa offense that shot 48.1 percent from the field, and 43.5 percent from three-point range in the victory.

The Wolves were able to control the pace for much of the game, holding the Skyforce to a season-low 81 field goal attempts and under 100 total points for just the third time this season. Iowa also narrowly edged the Skyforce in points scored in the paint, 38-36 in the contest, dropping the Skyforce to just 2-8 when outscored in that category.

Tony Mitchell (25 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds) overcame a tough night shooting to lead the Skyforce yet again. Mitchell's reached another level in his play in recent games, averaging 29.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.8 assists over his last four games. Mitchell's 12 assists in tonight's contest were good enough to earn him a new career-high, topping his previous mark of 10 (achieved twice) which he recently matched on December 8 against the South Bay Lakers.

Newly acquired NBA veteran Alonzo Gee was asked to play big minutes just 24 hours after joining the team in Sioux Falls yesterday. Gee tallied 15 points and added five steals in 31 minutes off the bench in tonight's loss.

Perry Jones III (13 points) and Michael Bryson (13 points) added double-figure scoring nights of their own, while Amile Jefferson, the NBA G League's rebounding leader, collected 11 rebounds to go along with his nine points for the Wolves.

Finally, Larry Drew II (17 points), Ike Nwamu (13 points), and Matt Williams Jr. (11 points) each scored in double-figures on a night that saw five different Sioux Falls players reach double-digits, while Kadeem Jack remained in the starting lineup and tallied 13 rebounds in the loss.

The Skyforce will look to get back into the win column as the team faces a back-to-back set with the Reno Bighorns on December 20, and the Salt Lake City Stars on December 21. Meanwhile, the Wolves now travel back to Des Moines for what will be the first of a six-game home stand against the Memphis Hustle on December 19.
