Tallahassee Titans News Release

TALLAHASSEE, FL-The fans of one of the American Indoor Football League's newest teams have chosen a team name. With over 800 suggested names, and thousands of votes for the five finalists, the citizens of Tallahassee have decisively chosen the name "Titans" for their new team.

Unveiled in front of a large crowd at AJ Sports, members of the local media, team sponsors, and some eager fans came out to celebrate the team announcement. Titans beat out contest finalists Talons, Tarpons, Conquistadors, and Knights by an overwhelming margin.

Morgan Smith, April Hargrove, and 17 year old Keaton Purvines were the winners for the "Name the Team Contest" being the first to suggest the name Titans to each local radio broadcasting company. Each winner was given three season tickets for the Titans inaugural season starting in February of 2007.

The team will wear navy blue and gold as their team colors. The logo (seen below) is one of a young Titan, with a traditional toga over his right shoulder, carrying a football in his left hand.

Next up for the young Titans will be an announcement for a major partnership with the Florida Department of Education.

The Tallahassee Titans play their home games in the Tallahassee/Leon County Civic Center located in Tallahassee, FL. For more information on the team, visit their web site at www.tallahasseetitans.com or call the main office at (850) 412-0029.
