Sheehan, Turnbow Earn UIFL Honors

CINCINNATI, OH - Two Cincinnati Commandos, Tyler Sheehan and Santino Turnbow, have earned weekly honors from the UIFL for the week ending March 11.

Sheehan is the second Commando player to earn UIFL North Offensive Player of the Week honors in two weeks. The quarterback from LaSalle High School led Cincinnati to the 64-51 victory over Eastern Kentucky Friday, handing the Drillers their first home loss in franchise history. Sheehan threw for 272 yards and eight touchdowns in the victory.

Receiver Brandon Boehm received the league's offensive honor last week.

For the second consecutive game, one of Sheehan's receivers set a Commandos single-game receiving record.

With a blocked field goal and blocked extra point, linebacker Turnbow earned UIFL North Special Teams Player of the Week. He added seven tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and an interception in the Cincinnati victory.

After a bye week, Cincinnati returns home 7:30 p.m. Saturday March 24 to host the Huntington Hammer.
