Billings Outlaws News Release

The Billings Outlaws announced their first two player signings for the 2011 season today.

Quarterback Silas Fluellen and defensive back/wide receiver LaRoche Jackson have both signed contracts to play for the back-to-back Indoor Football League champion Outlaws during the 2011 season.

While at Wayne State, the duel-threat Fluellen, threw for over 10,500 yards and 76 touchdowns in his 46-game career at the Division II Nebraska school, and also became Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's all-time leader in total offense by the time he graduated last spring.

Another special honor given to Fluellen in his senior season was the NSIC Glen Galligan Award, given to an outstanding senior football player in the NSIC who is academically superior while making a positive contribution to his institution. It's the first time that a WSC football player has received this prestigious award.

The Outlaws also bolstered their defensive backfield Friday with the signing of Jackson.

Jackson, who played for the Bloomington Extreme of the IFL in 2009, caught a career-high 19 interceptions with the Carolina Speed of the American Indoor Football Association and has also seen time on the Hamilton Tiger Cats roster in the CFL.

More player signings are expected in the coming days and weeks as the Outlaws prepare to go for their third straight IFL championship in 2011.
