Outlaws Release Dixon
September 17, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Billings Outlaws News Release
The Billings Outlaws have released quarterback Chris Dixon today so that he may pursue a CFL and 2 AFL team's interest in the 3 time National Championship QB.
"I am very excited for Dixon to have this opportunity" stated Outlaws co-owner Mike Parnell. When Chris came to us he was a rookie back-up QB for Rapid City and I think we both have made each other wildly successful"!
"This player brought us three National Championships and took us to two other Conference Championships in his 5 years with us" stated Head coach Heron O'Neal. With Dixon's help we have established a high expectation to win and his interest at the next level reinforces our team's commitment to get serious looks in the NFL and CFL for our players. Even before the CFL's interest in Dixon the Outlaws have sent more players to the NFL or CFL than any other team in the IFL or the UIF ( the team's former league)" stated O'Neal. Travonti "Tuff" Johnston was signed with the New York Giants and just this last season Eric Mc Cain has had several private workouts with NFL clubs. Our Kicker, Garrett Palmer just had a private evaluation with the Seattle Seahawks and Michael Landry, Jason Holman, Jervonte Jackson, and Myniya Smith have all either signed or have had private CFL workouts" said O'Neal. " I hope (Dixon) is successful. I hate to lose him but the more players we can develop and get serious looks in the NFL or CFL only makes the Outlaws more desirable in our National recruiting efforts".
