Monsters Get Woodley in Trade with Lakeland

ST. CHARLES, MO - The Missouri Monsters and Lakeland Raiders have come to terms on a trade that will involve QB/Athlete Tavares Woodley being traded to the Monsters in exchange for a player to be named later.

"We brought Woodley in to camp this year to compete at the jack linebacker position but with limited housing and the increase in local talent.We felt it would be better to trade him to Missouri for a player to be named later. We want all players to have a shot of going to the next level and we hope he can excel with the Monsters in 2013." said Lakeland Raiders Head Coach Michael Mink.

Tavares Woodley started the 2012 season with the Lakeland Raiders. He started four games, and had a 100.8 QB Rating, completed 52 of 93 passes for 637 yards, 6 INT, and 22 TD's. He also rushed for 2 TD's. Mid season Woodley played one game for the Mississippi Hound Dogs and had a 138.9 QB Rating, completed 32 of 60 passes for 233 yards, 2 INT, and 4 TD's. After his Mississippi game, he signed with the Florida Tarpons.

"I'm excited to have Tavares on my team again. He was always great on the field, and in the community." Said Monsters Owner Andrew Haines.

Woodley served as back up QB for the Tarpons, and started on defense at linebacker. He finished the season with 24 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, 5 INT, 1 returned for a TD, 5 pass break ups, and 2 fumble recoveries. His efforts helped him be voted 1st Team All-UIFL for the2012 season.

Woodley also played in the UIFL in the 2011 season as a starting QB. He also has played in the IFL, and the CIFL prior to 2011
