Wilmington, DE- The Erie BayHawks were defeated by the Delaware 87ers tonight, 105-129.
The BayHawks started the game shooting well on 64 percent from the floor through six minutes of play but allowed Delaware to go on a nine to nothing run to retake the lead. Erie closed the gap to five with 4:03 to play before half but Delaware countered with a Devondrick Walker three-pointer as time expired to take a 63-49 lead into half.
Anthony Brown came out of the half scoring nine points in under three minutes but Erie would close the quarter trailing by 15 despite his efforts. Delaware wouldn't look back and maintained the lead through the remainder of the game.
The BayHawks were led by Brown and Gabe York. York finished with 22 points on eight-of-16 shooting from the floor to go with four assists and three rebounds. Brown added 21 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Branden Dawson grabbed a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. C.J. Wilcox had 15 points off the bench.
Delaware was propelled by a big night from Shawn Long. Long had a season-high 45 points on 19-of-26 shooting, including seven-of-eight from the free throw line, to go with 14 rebounds. Walker had 19 points while Dionte Christmas added 17 points, six assists, and seven rebounds.
