"Georgia on My Mind" has become a reoccurring theme as the Lafayette Wildcatters play in Georgia yet again, taking on the Columbus lions this Saturday at 7:30 EST at the Columbus Civic Center.

The Skip Foster era began with an impressive showing last week, as the team narrowly lost 70-64 to the Albany Panthers.

Quarterback Bo Bartik gutsy performance in the second half led the Wildcatters. Bartik finished 25 of 48 for 246 yards and six touchdowns, four of which were in the second half.

"We are going to have to do a good job of mixing up our protections to protect Bo," said Foster.

Two Wildcatter receivers dominated the Albany game. Clyde Edwards had 13 catches for 171 yards, and three touchdowns, setting a new league reception record. Clarence Cotton finished with 10 catches for 108 yards, and two touchdowns.

Andre Kelly continues to make his presence felt in the special teams facet of the indoor game. He finished the game with 224 yards in kickoff returns, and one touchdown.

Kicker Sean Comiskey continues his transition to the smaller playing field. He is the all-time University of Louisiana at Lafayette leading scorer with the most points in school history. Columbus poses an interesting defensive alignment, primarily utilizing a stack set which is a catalyst in its plus eleven ratio after three games. In addition, the team also leads the SIFL in both scoring offense, 74 points per game, and scoring defense, 32.7 points per game. Defensively the Lions are led by former Troy University linebacker Ryan Babb, who has touchdown returns of 50 yards and 10 yards.

Former U.S Naval Academy at Annapolis quarterback Chris McCoy directs the high-octane Lions' offense. McCoy inherited the starting position after Todd Spitzer was injured in an opening week victory over the Louisiana Swashbucklers. McCoy has been extremely savvy after taking over in week two, completing 24 of 32 passes for 320 yards and seven touchdowns.

Tirone Mooris leads the Lions' receiving core with 18 catches for 269 yards and two touchdowns. Gerald Gales continues to be a point-making machine, scoring half the time he catches the ball.
