Heroes and Blue Racers Join Forces for Special Olympics

Saturday nights Cape Fear Heroes professional indoor football game against the Marion Blue Racers will have a unique twist to it. Both the Cape Fear Heroes and the Marion Blue Racers are members of the X-League and for two minutes during the game both teams will take a break from the battle on the gridiron against each other and work together for Special Olympics. As part of Systel and Special Olympics night Special Olympics athlete Earl Horan will get the opportunity to live his dream of being a professional football player.
With 1 minute remaining in the second quarter Earl will join the huddle of the Heroes offense as a player and participate in a play against the Marion Blue Racers defense as he tries to score a touchdown for Special Olympics. After the play Earl will receive two autographed footballs one each from the Heroes and Blue Racers.
Systel and Special Olympics Night is this Saturday May 23rd, at the Crown Coliseum, tailgating starts at 4:30 pm with kickoff at 7:30 pm. Heroes team posters will be given away to the first 400 fans courtesy of Systel Business Equipment.
