OPPONENT
LOS ANGELES D-FENDERS FacebookLive Radio: KSOO 1140-AM
Series Notes: Each time the Skyforce have faced the Los Angeles D-Fenders this season, they've had a chance to tie, or retake possession of the best record in the NBA D-League. Thursday's game is no different. After a loss at Reno a night ago, the Skyforce sit at 20-7 on the season, just one loss behind the Los Angeles D-Fenders, who lead the Eastern Conference with a record of 20-6. The last time these two teams met was in the NBA D-League Showcase, where the Skyforce outlasted the D-Fenders 118-113 behind a career-high 30 points from Patrick Miller, who had just recently been inserted into the starting lineup. Briante Weber followed with 28 points, and Keith Benson added 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Skyforce to victory. So far, just over half way through the regular season, Sioux Falls has appeared to be one of the only teams to have the D- Fenders' number, as they are 2-0 against Los Angeles on the year. The Skyforce will look to continue that success while visiting the D-Fenders in El Segundo on Thursday. Los Angeles will be led by a few familiar faces, including Vander Blue, who has not-so-quietly been one of the league's best scorers so far this season averaging 24.9 points per contest. He is accompanied by fellow guard Josh Magette, who is one of the league's top playmakers, averaging 10.1 assists per game in addition to his 14.6 points per contest.

ïâ-
The Skyforce won 20 straight regular season games on their home floor spanning from February 19, 2016 to January 13, 2017. In doing so, they share the NBA Development League Record for longest home winning streak during the regular season with the Idaho Stampede, who won 20- straight spanning the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. ïâ-
The Skyforce were the first team to reach 20 regular season wins this season, defeating the Los Angeles D-Fenders on January 21 by a score of 118-113. ïâ-
The Skyforce average the fourth-most points scored per game with 113.6. The Skyforce are 5-0 against the three teams that average more points scored per game than they do this season (Los Angeles, Rio Grande Valley, and Texas). ïâ-
The Skyforce are tied for first in the D-League in turnovers forced per game, averaging 19.4 on the year. They're tied for second in the league in steals per game with an average of 10.5 per contest. ïâ-
The Skyforce rank first in the league in blocked shots per game, averaging 6.4 blocks per matchup. ïâ-
The Skyforce rank first in the league, averaging 47.6 rebounds per game, though have only out-rebounded opponents in 16 of 26 games so far this season. Sioux Falls has a record of 15-1 when out-rebounding opponents this season. ïâ-
The Skyforce has the second-best defensive rating in the league so far this season at 98.5, trailing only the Oklahoma City Blue (98.4). ïâ-
The Skyforce rank second in the league for fastest pace at which they play (107.23). Pace is calculated by the number of possessions a team averages per 48 minutes of play. The Skyforce trail only the Texas Legends (107.37). ïâ-
Since entering a hybrid affiliation with the Miami HEAT in 2013, the Skyforce have an overall regular season record of 120-57 (propelled by a record-breaking 40-10 season in 2015-16), good enough for the best record in the NBA D-League in that span.
ïâ-
Keith Benson: Has a double-double in 17 out of 26 games played this season for the Skyforce, good enough for first place in the D-League.
Benson tallied a career-high 33 points to go along with 17 rebounds in a loss to the Salt Lake City Stars on 12/30/16. Benson was named NBA D- League Player of the Month for the month of December, and was named NBA D-League Performer of the Week for games played between Monday, December 4 and Sunday, December 11. ïâ-
Briante Weber: Briante Weber scored a career-high 34 points on Wednesday night in a loss to the Reno Bighorns, just one game after scoring 28 points against the Los Angeles D-Fenders at the D-league Showcase on Saturday, January 21. Weber has been on an offensive tear as of late, scoring in double figures in his last eight games and averaging 23.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.6 assists in that span. Weber has also recorded at least one steal in every game so far this season, and is averaging a league-leading 3.0 steals per game. ïâ-
Okaro White: Was the first call up of the 2016-17 season for the Skyforce, being signed by the Miami HEAT to a 10-day contract on January 17, 2017. White is averaging 18.4 points and 8.7 rebounds through 23 games played this season for the Skyforce, and has the highest point-total of any Skyforce player in the last two seasons combined with a 36-point outing against the Los Angeles D-Fenders on December 28, 2016. ïâ-
Patrick Miller: Started both games for the Skyforce at the D-League Showcase, marking his first two starts for the Skyforce since he was acquired. Miller scored a then-career-best 29 points in a win against the Reno Bighorns on January 19, and then proceeded to score another career-best 30 points in a win against the Los Angeles D-Fenders two days later on January 21. Miller was named All-Showcase First Team for his efforts during the Showcase. In Miller's last five games, he's averaged 23.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Miller was averaging just over seven points per game in his previous games played for the Skyforce this season.
