Freeze Storm Out of Gates In Training Camp

Erie Freeze News Release
The Erie Freeze of the Atlantic Indoor Football League opened its inaugural training camp this weekend to rave reviews from Head Coach and General Manager Mike Esposito. Roster hopefuls came from all over the country and not only battled for a spot on the team's final roster but braved the elements also.
The original camp roster of 40 hopefuls was whittled down to 28 at midnight and must be cut down to the final roster of 23 on April 9 in anticipation of the AIFL opener on April 16.
Esposito is cautiously optimistic, "Camp is going well right now, things are competitive and we are down to our 28 man roster now. The next three days will make or break some guys"
From day one, the Freeze organization has been looking for players that are dedicated to the game of football, the Erie Freeze, and the Erie area. Despite the rough weekend weather, every player found a way to report to camp.
A proud Coach Esposito stated, "A storm hit us on Sat night and dumped a lot of snow on Erie. Every one of our guys was dressed and ready to practice at 6:40 AM with out being late, that was impressive to me! It showed a sense of urgency for our guys to get there and ignore the surroundings and get to work. One of our linebacker's vehicle was stuck in a snow band and he ran about 2 miles to make it on time, and one of our kickers drove in from Buffalo that morning. This is an indication of the guys' attitudes thus far!"
The Erie Freeze kickoff the 2005 season April 16 in Johnstown, PA. The Freeze open its home schedule on April 23rd at 7 PM in Tuillio Arena against the Richmond Bandits.
