Fans Urged To Meet Freeze Players, Chillers April 9 At Millcreek Mall

Just call the whole ordeal "Survivor: Erie."

Forty roster hopefuls were put through grueling three-a-day workouts before only the strongest and best suited to represent the inaugural roster of the Erie Freeze football club of the Atlantic Indoor Football League were able to claim the title of the chosen few.

Football fans from the Erie area are welcome to meet and greet with the players and coaches that will comprise the first incarnation of the 2005 Erie Freeze. Along with the Freeze players, the Freeze's talented dance team, The Chillers, will be in attendance from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday, April 9 at Erie's Millcreek Mall.

Players and dance team members will be available for autographs and photo opportunities. Fans will also receive free schedules and chances to win official Erie Freeze merchandise. The Chillers will also give a sneak preview of this season's eagerly anticipated game day dance routines.

Freeze Head Coach and General Manager Mike Esposito proudly stated, "I hope everyone comes out to meet their team. These guys have gone through hell in the past two weeks for the chance to be professional football players your professional football players. We have been practicing hard THREE times a day: once at 7 a.m., once at midday, and 9 p.m. at night."

"These guys are busting their rear ends for a chance to play for Erie and they have made me extremely proud with the effort they have all demonstrated."

Coach Esposito added, "I think that fans will be impressed by these guys."

"There are already guys stepping up in leadership roles on the field and in the locker room. The way to honor these guys and the effort they have brought to this town is for us to pack the house April 23."

Fans are also reminded that brand new Freeze Gear will also be on sale during the appearance. The Freeze's merchandise will be available at various locations just in time for the team's season opener.

The Millcreek Mall is located on 5800 Peach Street in Erie, PA.

The Erie Freeze will kickoff the 2005 season April 16 in Johnstown, PA.

The Freeze opens its home schedule April 23 at 7 p.m. in Tuillio Arena against Richmond.
