SPOKANE, Washington- The Empire has signed quarterback Aaron Wilmer to their 2017 IFL roster.

Wilmer (QB, 6-0, 200, Delaware Valley) joins the Empire for his first season as a member of the IFL. Aaron played all four of his collegiate seasons at Delaware Valley University where he was a four-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) and posted a 34-9 record as a starter. He also led the Aggies to a MAC Championship in 2011 and two trips to the NCAA Division III Playoffs (2011 and 2014).

Aaron finished his career ranked second in school history in completions (692), passing yards (10,157), passing touchdowns (84), and total offense (11,795 yards). During his senior season in 2014, he completed 185-of-316 pass attempts for 3,228 yards and 30 touchdowns while adding 310 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground. After his collegiate career, Aaron spent time with the Canadian Football League's BC Lions.

"Aaron Wilmer fits the mold that our offense looks for in a quarterback," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "He's an accurate passer and very mobile. Between his success in college and his time in the CFL, I believe he will be an asset to our organization."

Aaron played his prep career at George Washington High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Additional Transactions: The Empire released quarterback Aaron Aiken and transferred linebacker Royce LaFrance to the NFL Exempt list after being signed to the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints.
