Spokane Empire News Release
SPOKANE, Washington (October 16, 2015) - The Empire has signed defensive lineman Royce Lafrance to their 2017 IFL roster.
Lafrance (DL, 6-4, 265, Tulane) joins the Empire for his rookie season as a member of the IFL. During his four collegiate seasons with the Green Wave, Royce saw action in 49 games (36 starts) while recording 124 total tackles. His twenty sacks and 37 tackles for loss rank third and fourth in school history, respectively. He finished his final three seasons with at least six sacks and was a two-time Phil Steele All-American Athletic Conference third team selection. After his senior collegiate season, Lafrance attended the NFL New Orlean's Saints rookie mini-camp.
"Royce is a very athletic and physical defensive end," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "His first step off the ball and high-motor is what NFL teams look for. Spokane fans are going to love to watch this young man play."
Lafrance played his prep career Helen Cox High School in Harvey, Louisiana.
