SPOKANE, Washington- The Empire has signed defensive back Norris Wrenn to their 2017 IFL roster. Wrenn (DB, 6-0, 180, East Central) joins the Empire for his third year as a member of the IFL after spending his first two IFL seasons in Billings. In 2016, he saw action in 12 regular season games and recorded 30.5 total tackles (28 solos), one tackle for loss, two interceptions, and led the Wolves with 12 pass break-ups. During his rookie year he racked up 68 total tackles (42 solos), two interceptions, one forced fumble and seven pass break-ups. Before joining Billings, he spent time with the Professional Indoor Football League's (PIFL) Oklahoma Defenders. He also received an invite from the NFL's St. Louis Rams to their 2013 rookie mini-camp. "Norris Wrenn is a very gifted football player that can take a team's best receiver out of the equation with his pass coverage abilities," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "Outside of being a great defender, Norris is also a deadly kick return specialist. He will fit in nicely here in Spokane." During his collegiate career at East Central University (OK), Wrenn received All-Conference honors following each year, including First Team recognition during his junior and senior seasons. He saw action in 44 total contests as he recorded 278 total tackles, ten interceptions, and 40 pass break-ups. Norris played his prep career at MacArthur High School in Lawton, Oklahoma.
