Grand Rapids Drive News Release

ERIE - March 10, 2017 - The Grand Rapids Drive (21-21) snapped a four-game losing streak on the road on Friday night with a 119-98 win over the Erie BayHawks (11-29). The Drive held the lead for most of the game after a 34-28 first quarter and sealed the win with a 10-point advantage in the fourth quarter.

Lorenzo Brown and Ray McCallum were a lethal backcourt combination for Grand Rapids. Brown, starting his first game this season since being acquired on March 3, had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists. McCallum provided 26 points of his own to go with seven assists. Ramon Harris scored 11 points with six rebounds off the bench for the Drive, going +26 in 26 minutes, the best plus-minus on the team.

Henry Ellenson, back with the Drive on assignment from the Detroit Pistons along with teammate Michael Gbinije, bounced back from a couple recent inefficient outings with 22 points and nine rebounds.

The Drive had the advantage in most aspects of the game, out-performing the BayHawks in field goal percentage, three-point percentage, assists, rebounds and blocks. They shot over 40 percent from deep for the first time in five games.

TJ Price led the BayHawks with 20 points, Gabe York had 16 points, five rebounds and six assists, and Branden Dawson attacked the glass for seven offensive rebounds on his way to 12 points and 15 rebounds. Shevon Thompson also grabbed 15 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for Erie.

The game was played at a relatively slow pace, only making the Drive's total of 119 points more impressive. They had only 87 shot attempts, and neither team drew a high volume of free throw attempts. The game took just one minute over two hours to complete.

These teams will rematch tomorrow night at March 11, still in Erie.
