
Drive Completes Trade with Windy City Bulls

THE GRAND RAPIDS DRIVE WAIVE BRUCE MASSEY- GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN - The Grand Rapids Drive, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today that the team has completed a trade with the Windy City Bulls to acquire Bronson Koenig.
The terms of the trade are that the Grand Rapids Drive will send the returning player rights of Gary Talton to Windy City in exchange for Koenig's rights.
Koenig, a 6-foot-4, 193-pound guard attended the University of Wisconsin from 2013-2017. While with the Badgers, Koenig appeared in 148 contests (94 starts) and averaged 9.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Koenig holds the school record for career three point shots made with 270. He received several NCAA Awards and Honors over the course of his decorated collegiate career, including being named All-Big Ten Third Team (Coaches) in 2016 and All-Big Ten Second Team (Coaches) along with Big Ten All-Tournament Team in 2017. Following his four years at Wisconsin, Koenig went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft. He attended training camp with the Chicago Bulls and was later waived, allowing the Windy City Bulls to acquire his rights as an affiliate player.
While with the Grand Rapids Drive, Koenig will wear jersey number 3.
As a result of the trade, the Grand Rapids Drive waive Bruce Massey.
The Drive are currently 2-0 and host the Windy City Bulls tomorrow Tuesday, Nov 7, 2017 at 7 p.m. ET. Tuesday's game is Veterans Appreciation Night and NBA G League Hoops for Troops. There will be a U.S. Army Future Soldier 'Swearing In Ceremony' taking place prior to tomorrow's game. It's also the Drive's $2 Night presented by Meijer which will feature $2 beer and $2 hot dogs. Tickets start as low as $5.
