Drive Complete Trade with Charge

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN - The Grand Rapids Drive, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today that the team has completed a trade with the Canton Charge, the NBA G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The terms of the trade are the Grand Rapids Drive send the returning player rights to Ramon Harris, in exchange for the returning player rights to Jon Horford from the Canton Charge.

Horford, the 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward spent four years at the University of Michigan and a fifth year, under the red shirt rule, at Florida for Graduate School. During his collegiate career, Horford appeared in 138 contests (40 starts), averaging 3.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. In 2015, after his 2014-15 season with the Gators, Horford signed briefly with the Milwaukee Bucks. After later being waived he was acquired by the Canton Charge of the NBA G League. He made his debut for the Charge the same day recording 10 points and 9 rebounds in a 113-111 loss against the Grand Rapids Drive. During his two-year stint with Canton, Horford appeared in 38 contests (18 starts), averaging 4.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Horford will join the Grand Rapids Drive next week and while with the team will be dressed in number 22.

The Grand Rapids Drive ended their eight-game losing streak last night against the Lakeland Magic and are on the road to take on the Erie BayHawks for a 7 PM (ET) tip tonight December 1. The Drive's next home game is Monday, December 4 against the Wisconsin Herd.
