DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Cory McKinney caught nine passes for 182 yards and five touchdowns as the Daytona Beach Thunder downed the Osceola Ghostriders 53-47 in a World Indoor Football League game before 2,025 at DBCC Public Broadcasting 15 Field at the Ocean Saturday night.
McKinney bested his own league record of 159 yards and tied the single-game touchdown reception mark set on opening day by his former teammate Blake Broadhurst.
The Thunder (3-7) beat the Ghostriders (4-6) for the first time in four meetings and kept their playoff hopes alive for the third seed in the four-team league.
Bo Bartik finished with 295 yards passing for the Thunder, with his other score going to Tarell Moore. Justin Brown rushed for one touchdown.
Robert Gordon had two touchdown catches for the Ghostriders, who have now lost three straight.
