Crunch Captain Zenon Konopka to Throw Ceremonial First Pitch at Syracuse Chiefs Game June 30

Syracuse, NY (June 24, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Crunch Captain Zenon Konopka will throw out the ceremonial first pitch when the Syracuse Chiefs host the Pawtucket Red Sox at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 30 at Alliance Bank Stadium.

Konopka, 27, appeared in 62 games for the Crunch last season, tallying 24 goals, 31 assists and 194 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 3 games for Columbus last season, picking up 15 penalty minutes.

A native of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Konopka was acquired by Columbus from Anaheim along with Curtis Glencross and a seventh round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Joe Motzko, Mark Hartigan and a fourth round pick in 2007 NHL Entry Draft on January 26, 2007.

Konopka will be available to sign autographs at the start of the second inning in front of the Whistlestop Souvenir Shop.

Syracuse Chiefs tickets can also be purchased in person at the Chiefs Ticket Office at Alliance Bank Stadium or by calling 315-474-7833 during normal business hours. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, Saturdays starting at 9am (game days only) and Sundays starting at 9am (2pm game time) or 12 noon (6pm game time).

Season tickets for the Crunch's 2008-09 season are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444 or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter.
