March 3, 2016 - Supreme Indoor Football (SIF)
Cape Fear Heroes News Release

On behalf of everyone under the Cape Fear Heroes umbrella we'd like to thank our ticket holders, sponsors, and fans as well as our players and support staff for seeing our vision for our local community and extending their time and effort to make these visions possible. With that being said we feel that you should be updated on our current status and that the Heroes will not be playing this season in 2016. Several factors were accessed prior to making this decision and every avenue evaluated for the possibility to allow us to play for our city in 2016. We know this is very sudden and may come as a shock to some but rest assured that this break will allow the Heroes time to grow the Heroes organization and prepare for our 2017 SEASON RETURN!

The Cape Fear Heroes are currently a debt free organization. With that being said the Heroes need your financial support to help us get to the next level we will use this time off to work on strategies and sources for additional financial support from our community as well as revenue streams from increased sponsorship and ticket sale to additional programs. In addition we will be working on programs to increase support from community and local government organizations.

We have a duty to our community and will continue to mentor our youth by traveling to schools, holding children mini camps and dance camps with Lady Heroes Dance team. There are many things we have planned during this short break. Supporting our city and surrounding cities with our enthusiasm, spearheaded approach to education and staying active is at the center of our goal.

The Cape Fear Heroes a professional arena/indoor football team from Fayetteville North Carolina started with the 2012 season and last spring we just completed our fourth season. In 2012 the Heroes finished their season undefeated with a 9-0 record and won the American Indoor Football National Championship and we were proud to have received a proclamation from the Mayor and City of Fayetteville recognizing those accomplishments. In 2013 and 2014 the Heroes finished as AIF regular season champions again went to the AIF Championship Game and came up just short. This past season in 2015 the Heroes went 5-2 in the regular season and won the Platinum Indoor Football Challenge Bowl.

One of our proud purposes for the Cape Fear Heroes was we wanted to pay tribute to our many local heroes in and around the Fayetteville area through our team from our military, fire and rescue squads, school administrators and teachers as well as the average citizen that does something spectacular, the team supports the colors of red, white, silver and blue.

We welcome our fans to grow with us as we move forward with many great plans in the works for the Heroes in the future as we prepare for the 2017 season. For the latest happenings going on with the Cape Fear Heroes go to our website at www.capefearheroes.com.
