BlueCats Host National Dodgeball League Event

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce a special partnership with the National Dodgeball League. The National Dodgeball League (NDL) is currently conducting their 2007 Dodgeball World Championship tour and the next tour stop is coming to Evansville, Indiana. The tour stop consists of a daylong dodgeball tournament with the winning team earning a trophy and an entry into the World Championship Finals in Las Vegas next month. Part of the tour stop includes a dodgeball match during halftime of the BlueCats game.
The World Championship Tour consists of stops all over the country with teams in different divisions competing for a chance to play for the World Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. The preliminary rounds of the Evansville tour stop will be held between 2-6pm at Metro Sports Center on Saturday, July 14th, with two teams getting the chance to demonstrate their dodgeball skills as part of the featured halftime entertainment during the Evansville BlueCats game against the Bloomington Extreme.
Dodgeball teams will be traveling to Evansville from across the region to compete. Local teams are welcome to sign up also. Anyone 18 years of age and older is eligible to form a team and enter the tournament. This marks the first time another professional sports organization has held part of a nationally sanctioned event during halftime of United Indoor Football (UIF) game. Good luck to all participants and good luck in Las Vegas.
The BlueCats will be wrapping up a three-game road trip this week when they travel St. Charles, Missouri to take on the River City Rage this Saturday, July 7th. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. This game can be heard live on News-Talk 1280 WGBF-AM and on the web at 103GBFrocks.com.
