Baltimore Blackbirds News Release
Baltimore - June, 20, 2007. John Wolfe, the Baltimore Blackbirds' General Manager for the 2007 season, has been promoted to Vice President. In his new role, Wolfe will oversee both business and football operations of the team.
As the team's general manager, Wolfe's primary focus was on business operations. He joined the Blackbirds in January 2007, just ten weeks before their season opener, and quickly obtained a coaching staff, practice facilities, and key sponsors to assist the team in meeting their aggressive timeline to start the 2007 season. He guided them through a difficult schedule in which they played eight of 13 games on the road and traveled twice as much as any team in the league, with their closest division rival located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"John has been a great contributor for the Blackbirds in the 2007 season and has helped steer the team in the right direction for the upcoming 2008 season. We are lucky to have him on our staff," stated Alexander Austin, Baltimore Blackbirds' Owner. "I'm excited to stay with the Blackbirds in this new capacity and am looking forward to a full off-season to prepare for the 2008 season," said Wolfe.
A new general manager will be named in the near future.
