
BIGHORNS FALL TO THE VIPERS AT HOME

RENO, Nev. - The Reno Bighorns (2-5) fell to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (7-3) 114-100 Saturday night at the Reno Events Center.
Will Davis led the Bighorns recording his first double-double of the season with 27 points and 14 rebounds while Matt Jones amassed 16 points and six rebounds. Aaron Harrison had 15 points, five rebounds, and two steals in the Saturday night contest.
Danuel House paced the Vipers with 29 points, 16 rebounds and five assists while RJ Hunter totaled 23 points, five rebounds and two assists.
The first quarter was a head-to-head battle through to a tightly-contested frame with the Bighorns winning the quarter 31-29. Neither team led by more than seven points in the frame, despite the quarter seeing nine lead changes and six ties. Davis scored 10 of his 27 points in the first quarter.
The even play continued through the second quarter as Jones paced Reno with 13 points in the frame. After two lead changes and three ties, Reno would have a late run to take a seven-point lead going into the locker room at the half.
The Bighorns took a quick 11-point advantage to open the second half, though Rio Grande Valley would respond by outscoring the 15-5 to edge the Reno by one at the 3:58 mark. The Bighorns responded with a 11-4 run to secure an 8-point surplus entering the final period.
The Vipers opened up the fourth quarter on a 11-3 run to tie the game at 94 with 6:33 remining in play. The lone lead change in the frame came from a jumper from House. Rio Grande Valley would continue to execute their offense outscoring Reno 31-9 in the quarter.
Reno will next host the Santa Cruz Warriors on Monday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.
