Bighorns Continue Season of Giving to Benefit Renown Children's Hospital and Local Food Bank

RENO, Nev. ---- The Reno Bighorns will continue their 2016 Season of Giving on Wednesday, Dec. 21 with a canned food drive to benefit the Community Food Pantry as well as a Holiday Giving Tree and Teddy Bear Toss for the patients at Renown Children's Hospital. The Bighorns are teaming up with The Community Food Pantry for a canned food drive to benefit those who are in need in the greater Reno/Sparks area this holiday season. The drive will take place during the Bighorns December 21 contest at 7 p.m. Fans who make a nonperishable food donation will receive a free ticket to the night's game. The food drive collection will start when doors open at 6 p.m. at the Reno Events Center and will conclude at 9 p.m. Fans can bring any non-perishable food item to the Reno Events Center entrance, where they will be given a game ticket. The Bighorns will also be joining forces with Renown Children's Hospital to host a Holiday Giving Tree and a Teddy Bear Toss during the Season of Giving. The Bighorns and their fans will be providing children in need of a holiday boost with gifts. During the December 21 contest, fans will have an opportunity to select a tag from the giving tree to provide a gift for a child spending their holiday at Renown Children's Hospital. Fans are encouraged to also bring a teddy bear to toss onto the court during a timeout. All stuffed animals collected will be donated to the Children's Hospital. Fans can also visit the Bighorns Front Office (50 W. Liberty St. Suite 201) and remove a tag from the tree for the following age groups: - Infant-2 Years - 2-6 Years - 6-12 Years - 15-Teen Additionally, Bighorns players will deliver the gifts to the hospital on Thursday, Dec. 22.
