
Bighorns Complete Trade for D-League All-Time Leading Scorer

RENO, NV---- The Reno Bighorns completed a trade today with the Northern Arizona Suns (formerly Bakersfield Jam), with the Bighorns acquiring the returning player rights to eight-year D-League veteran Renaldo Major in exchange for Reno's own, original 2017 3rd Round Draft Pick. The trade is pending the successful completion of a physical.
Major (6'6", 210lbs) most recently played the 2015-16 with the Jam where he tallied 6.1 points (.459 FG%, .852 FT%) and 19.3 minutes per game in 42 contests (8 starts). In 2014, Major became the NBA D-League All-Time leading scorer with 4,325 career points. He currently has 4,909 career points.
The Fresno State alumnus was selected in round 4 with pick 8 in the 2006 NBA D-Legaue Draft by the Dakota Wizards (currently Santa Cruz Warriors). During the 2006-07 season with the Wizards, Major averaged 18.2 points (.502 FG%, .812 FT%), 5.4 rebounds and 33.9 minutes per game in 45 contests (45 starts). Major was called-up to the Golden State Warriors for one game during the 2006-07 season while playing for current Sacramento Kings Head Coach, Dave Joerger. He scored five points in 27 minutes.
Major is the recipient of the 2015 Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award, an award which honors the player who best represents the ideals of character and conduct on and off the court.
The Reno Bighorns open the 2016-17 season on the road against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Sunday, Nov. 13 before playing their first regular season home game on Saturday, Nov. 19 against the Oklahoma City Blue.
