Erie, PA (December 27) - The Erie BayHawks (5-11) took down the Maine Red Claws (10-7) 101-98 this evening in a game that saw 18 lead changes and 11 ties.

The BayHawks held the Red Claws scoreless through the first three and half minutes of play while racking up 11 points to force a Scott Morrison timeout but went on a 15 to four run to even the score with four minutes to play in the quarter. Play stayed even in the second quarter with Erie shooting 42 percent and Maine shooting 37 percent and both teams hitting on less than 30 percent of their three-pointers.

After Anthony Brown opened the second half with back-to-back three pointers, Maine retook the lead on an Abdel Nader dunk with 3:48 to play in the third. The third saw four ties and eight lead changes. The back-and-forth play continued into the fourth until Kalin Lucas hit on a driving layup assisted by Branden Dawson 9.3 seconds to play. After denying the ensuing Red Claws possession, Gabe York knocked down two free throws to seal the victory.

Lucas nearly grabbed a triple-double for the BayHawks with 18 points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds. Cliff Alexander added 19 points and nine rebounds on eight-of-15 shooting from the floor. Brown had 18 points and six rebounds while hitting on four-of-seven from behind the arc.

The Red Claws were led by a game-high 27 points from Jalen Jones. Demetrius Jackson had 15 points and eight rebounds. Nader poured in 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
