
BayHawks Fall to Vipers

Hidalgo, TX - The Erie BayHawks (1-3) fell to the Rio Grande Velley Vipers (4-1) 80-108 this evening in Hidalgo, TX.
The BayHawks were outscored 35-57 in the first half after shooting 36% compared to the Vipers' 41% while committing 12 fouls and 10 turnovers. TJ Price recorded 11 points for a team-high in the half. The Vipers continued the offensive onslaught in the second half, outscoring the BayHawks 51-45. Erie turned the ball over 19 times and were whistled for 22 fouls on the game.
Four of five starters scored in double-digits for the BayHawks and Vipers. Erie was led by Price's 18 despite suffering an injury just before half. Cliff Alexander notched his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 15 rebounds with Branden Dawson out of the lineup with a back injury. Alex Davis added 14 points and eight rebounds while Ramon Galloway posted 12 points in his first start of the season.
The Vipers saw six players score in double-digits led by 16 from PJ Hairston. Chinanu Onuaka, on assignment from the Houston Rockets, added a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds while Gary Payton II posted a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The BayHawks are off until Friday, November 25th when they face the Greensboro Swarm in Greensboro. The BayHawks return to Erie Insurance Arena on Thursday, December 1st. Main level tickets are only $8 and can be purchased at eriebayhawks.com or by calling 814-790-5600.
