Erie, PA (December 23) - The Erie BayHawks were defeated by the Santa Cruz Warriors tonight, 74-102.
The BayHawks shot only 34 percent in the first half on their way to a season-low 41 points while the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and 54 percent from three to take the lead into half with 60 points. Gabe York and Ramon Galloway hit the lone three three-pointers in the half while Scott Wood had four of his own for Santa Cruz on six attempts.
The BayHawks' woes continued into the second half. The Warriors grabbed their biggest lead of the night at 30 while the BayHawks put up only 12 points in the third quarter. Erie outscored the Warriors in the fourth, 21-19, while shooting 59 percent in the quarter.
Erie was paced by Branden Dawson with 20 points on nine-of-11 shooting from the field. Dawson made his return from an eight-game absence with an illness. Cliff Alexander grabbed a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ramon Galloway had 10 points.
Wood had a game-high 23 points on five-of-eight shooting from behind the arc for the Warriors. Cameron Jones had 17 points. Damion Jones added 10 points and nine rebounds.
