Vancouver Stealth News Release

Vancouver, BC- The Vancouver Stealth (8-9) visit the New England Black Wolves (8-9) on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

The last week of the NLL schedule still holds major playoff implications for Vancouver. With a Friday night Mammoth loss and a Stealth victory on Saturday, the Langley Events Centre would play host for the first-round playoff match between Colorado and Vancouver.

"It's very exciting to be playing in these big games this late in the season," said Rhys Duch. "It's not only exciting for the players, staff, and coaches, but for the fans and BC lacrosse community as well. We can feel the energy from the crowd, and I think the fans are seeing our momentum build and really getting behind us."

New England finds themselves in a similar position as Vancouver. They sit head-to-head with the Toronto Rock for the second spot in the East, both sporting identical records. A Toronto-loss could propel the Black Wolves into a home playoff position.

Meanwhile, the Stealth are coming off a victory over the Colorado Mammoth last week that clinched their playoff hopes.

"Solidifying a playoff spot last weekend was a monumental moment for lacrosse in this market," said Stealth color analyst Brad Challoner. "Having the possibility to host Colorado in round one would be even more vital now that the Stealth have made the LEC a scary place to play for opponents."

Corey Small is having the best year of his career, shattering his previous career-high of 84 points. Although a touch ambitious, he could set a new single-season record for the Vancouver Stealth. Small needs 6 goals to tie Rhys Duch (2016) and Jeff Zywicki (2008) with most goals (48) in a single season. If Small can score 7 points he will tie Rhys Duch (2016) and Colin Doyle (2009) for most points (111) in a single season. In 2017, Small has had four games where he has had 7 or more points in a single outing.

Follow along on TSN Radio or NLL TV this Saturday as the Stealth visit the New England Black Wolves and try to lock up a home game in the first round of the NLL Playoffs.
