Erie BayHawks Trade Third Round Pick to Stampede for Rights to Derrick Caracter

Erie, Pennsylvania, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 - The Erie BayHawks have traded a 2015 third-round NBA Development League draft pick to the Idaho Stampede for the rights to Derrick Caracter. A power forward out of UTEP, Caracter was the 58th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. He played 41 games with the Los Angeles Lakers during his rookie season but was waived after tearing his left lateral meniscus during practice. Caracter played four games for the Idaho Stampede during the 2011-12 season following his injury. Caracter spent time in Poland and Lithuania in the 2013-14 season before helping his Brazilian team, Novo Basquete Brasil, win the 2014 FIBA Intercontinental Cup.

By sending their third round pick to the Stampede, the BayHawks will draft in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds at the 2015 NBA Development League Draft on October 31st.

The BayHawks kick off their season November 14th against the Westchester Knicks. They return home to Erie Insurance Arena to face off against the Delaware 87ers on November 20th. Season and group tickets are now on sale. Contact the BayHawks at 814-790-5600.
