
Bighorns Name Assistant Coaches

RENO, NV ---- The Reno Bighorns announced today that Gene Cross and Matt Chalupa will join head coach Dave Aresenealt's coaching staff as assistant coaches during the 2015-16 season.
Cross, a 20-year coaching veteran, has extensive experience at the collegiate and professional levels. Cross most recently held the position of assistant coach to the Los Angeles D-Fender's. Prior to joining Los Angeles, Cross served as head coach of the Erie BayHawks during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 season.
In his first season as a head coach, Cross led the BayHawks to a 26-24 record with two Gatorade NBA Call-Ups (Terrel Harris, Henry Sims). Cross developed 10 assignment players during his two seasons with the BayHawks.
Chalupa comes to Reno after spending last season as assistant coach at Grinnell College, where Arseneault's "system" originated. During the 2014-15 season, Chalupa helped lead Grinnell to a 15-10 record.
Returning coaching staff members include; Scott Schroeder, who will serve as Bighorns director of player personnel after serving two years as Bighorns assistant coach, and Julian Applebome who will hold the position of video coordinator.
