Governor Jay Inslee Declares October 1 Seattle Reign FC Day in Washington State

SEATTLE (September 29, 2015) - Seattle Reign FC today announced that Governor Jay Inslee has declared October 1, the date of the NWSL Championship, Seattle Reign FC Day in the state of Washington.

"Seattle Reign FC have taken the National Women's Soccer League by storm, finishing back-to-back seasons with the best regular season record," said Washington State Governor Jay Inslee. "We are honored to have a world-class women's professional soccer team represent the city of Seattle and the state of Washington, and wish them good luck in the NWSL Championship on October 1st."

Reign FC will face FC Kansas City on October 1 at Providence Park in Portland Oregon in the NWSL Championship. The match will be nationally televised on Fox Sports 1 and kicks off at 6:30 p.m. PT.

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Seattle Reign FC finished the 2015 NWSL regular season at the top of the league with a 13-3-4 record for the most wins in the league and tied for fewest losses; and

WHEREAS, Seattle Reign FC became the first team to win the NWSL Shield, awarded to the team with the best regular season record, multiple times having achieved the honor in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Seattle Reign FC is the winningest club in the NWSL with a total of 34 wins in three years; and

WHEREAS, Seattle Reign FC finished the season without a loss at home for a second consecutive season, having now gone 18-0-6 at Memorial Stadium; and

WHEREAS, Seattle Reign FC's offense lead the league in goals scored with 41, outscoring opponents 26-8 at home and 15-13 on the road; and

WHEREAS, Two Seattle Reign FC players-midfielder Kim Little and forward Beverly Yanez- scored 10 goals each through the post-season; and

WHEREAS, Seattle Reign FC head coach Laura Harvey was named the NWSL Coach of the Year, becoming the first coach to win the award multiple times; and

WHEREAS, Seattle Reign FC advanced to the 2015 NWSL Championship Final for a second consecutive season to be played on October 1, 2015.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jay Inslee, Governor of the state of Washington, do hereby proclaim October 1, 2015 as

Seattle Reign FC Day

in Washington State, and I hereby urge citizens to Let It Reign and join me in wishing Seattle Reign FC all the best as they compete for the 2015 NWSL Championship.
