GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Jun. 24, 2015- The Grand Rapids Drive will be attending and hosting a Dunk Contest this year at the Meijer State Games of Michigan at the 5/3rd Ballpark on Fri. Jun. 26, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, announced today.
Festivities for the games begin Thurs. Jun. 25th and will end Sun. Jun. 28th.
The Meijer State Games of Michigan is a multi-sport, Olympic-style event that welcomes athletes regardless of age or ability. The Games embody the values of participation, sportsmanship and healthy living among residents of the state of Michigan.
Opening Ceremonies for the games begin Fri. Jun. 26, 2015 at 7:30 PM.
From 4:00 to 7:00PM, the Drive will have a table set up where fans will be able interact with Buckets, the mascot and have an opportunity to learn more information about the Grand Rapids Drive and the upcoming 2015-16 season.
At 6:00 PM, before the Opening Ceremonies commence, the Drive's Dunk Contest will begin. Four, pre-qualified contestants, Nate Hutcheson, Delaney Blaylock, as well as Grand Rapids natives Mike Williams and Myke Broyles, will all have the chance to be named the Drive Dunk Champion of 2015.
At 7:30 PM, immediately following the Dunk Contest, Buckets will lead everyone in the stadium for the Opening Ceremony.
