Drive Kicks off Inaugural Basketball Academy

Grand Rapids, Mich. - Jun. 16, 2015 - The Grand Rapids Drive announced today that it will be starting its first (inaugural) four-day Grand Rapids Drive Basketball Academy at the Courthouse Athletic Center in Byron Center, Mich. Kick-off for camp will begin on Mon. July 27, 2015.

Staff members from the Grand Rapids Drive and the Affiliate Detroit Pistons team up to teach the basic fundamentals of basketball as well as individual improvements while providing a safe, fun and exciting environment and experience for boys and girls ages 8-14. Camp runs from 8:00 am until 12:00 PM (noon) and will feature different basketball skill stations every day.

The campers will have various individual and team contests through the four-day experience with awards being distributed. Other things that will be taught are 5-on-5 scrimmages and lecture on the importance of sportsmanship and character building skills while providing the campers with the fundamentals of healthy living.

Registration has begun and has a fee of $75. Upon arrival - Campers will receive a complimentary t-shirt and two (2) tickets to a game for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
