SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors, the 2015 NBA Development League Champions, will launch a Santa Cruz City Schools tour of the NBA D-League Championship trophy presented by Chevrolet of Watsonville, beginning this week, the team announced today.
"Our relationship with the schools has been so powerful over the past three seasons in Santa Cruz, so we created a trophy tour which allows us to connect with our fans and the 4,000 elementary and middle school kids who participate in our Math Warriors and Read to Achieve programs. It's an honor to have the opportunity to celebrate with our students, teachers, and administrators who have supported us since our inaugural season," said Jim Weyermann, Santa Cruz Warriors president.
The tour will make stops at all seven Santa Cruz City elementary and middle schools. Students and teachers can view and take pictures with the trophy at each stop during the specified times on a first-come, first-served basis.
All fans are welcome to stop by the Warriors Front Office at 903 Pacific Ave. in Downtown Santa Cruz to view and take pictures with the trophy during regular business hours.
