
Warriors Late Rally Falls Short of a Win

FORT WAYNE, IN. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 93-91 Tuesday night in their first of four games to be played on the road.
Facing as much as an 18-point deficit, the Warriors mounted a comeback that saw the visitors come within one point of Fort Wayne in the waning minutes of the contest. A Dahntay Jones dunk sealed Fort Wayne's third consecutive win.
The Santa Cruz Warriors were led by James Michael McAdoo, who logged his 7th double-double of the season with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Mychel Thompson scored 21 points and had three boards. Kiwi Gardner proved to be the fourth quarter catalyst for the Warriors, tallying 16 points and 6 rebounds in a 5 of 6 shooting effort.
Andre Emmett paced Fort Wayne with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, while Gary Talton recorded 19 points and 7 assists.
Fort Wayne held the edge on field goal shooting percentage (41%-36%) and rebounds (50-49), and assists (20-15). Both teams had 8 steals apiece.
The Santa Cruz Warriors will travel to Maine on Friday to take on the Red Claws in a weekend double-header at 4:00 p.m. Pacific on both Friday and Saturday.
