New Jersey 3, Newark 2 (Game one - 7 innings)
Back-to-back home runs by Bryan Sabatella and Danny Rams lifted the Jackals over the Bears in the first game of a doubleheader in Newark. Those solo home runs broke a scoreless tie in the fourth, as New Jersey won by a score of 3-2. On the mound, Craig Bennigson worked six innings, giving up one earned run on five hits. He struck out five batters en route to his first win of the season.
Fargo-Moorhead 4, Trois-Rivieres 0
A couple of RBI doubles off the bat of C.J. Retherford paired with a strong pitching performance by Paul Burnside led to a 4-0 RedHawks victory over Trois-Rivieres. Retherford opened the scoring with a two-bagger in the first that scored Zach Penprase. The Fargo-Moorhead second baseman struck again in the third with a double that brought Nic Jackson home. Retherford's second double was part of a three-run inning that helped the RedHawks distance themselves from the Aigles.
Burnside struck out eight batters over six innings to pick up the win. He allowed just three hits and held the Aigles scoreless before Joe Harris and Nathan Kilcrease finished the job over the last three frames.
New Jersey 5, Newark 2 (Game two - 7 innings)
Danny Rams continued to produce for the Jackals in game two of a doubleheader against Newark. The New Jersey left fielder doubled and drove in three runs to help the Jackals beat the Bears, 5-2. Rams opened the scoring in the third with an RBI single and the Jackals added two more in the inning to take a 3-0 lead. Newark cut the lead to one run in the bottom half of the inning. But, New Jersey got those runs back in the fifth to earn the doubleheader sweep.
Quebec 8, Rockland 3
Josue Peley's home run and three RBI led Quebec to an 8-3 victory over Rockland. The Capitales catcher hit a two-run home run in the fifth and added insurance with a run-scoring single in the eighth. Peley led the team in run production, but Royce Consigli contributed a significant amount, as well. Consigli opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second and finished the night 3-for-3 with two walks. Karl Gelinas earned the win for Quebec, pitching six innings and allowing three runs on six hits. He improved to 4-1 with the victory.
