NEW YORK (Monday, June 17, 2013) - Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Kenny Miller was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for week 16 of the 2013 MLS season.

Kenny Miller scored two goals and drew a penalty kick to propel the Whitecaps to a 4-3 win over the New England Revolution Saturday night at BC Place.

With the Revolution up 2-0, Miller ran onto a ball behind New England's defense and was pulled down by Andrew Farrell in the box, forcing an ejection and a penalty kick in the 23rd minute. Camilo Sanvezzo converted the penalty kick for the Whitecaps' first goal.

The Scottish forward scored his first goal of the game in the 39th minute when he flicked the ball over his defender and left footed it past New England goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth to tie the game at 2-2.

Twenty nine minutes later, Miller ensured the victory for Vancouver when he collected a through ball from Sanvezzo and volleyed it into the top right corner.

Vancouver are back in action this Wednesday, June 19, when they host Chivas USA in at BC Place at 10 pm ET (TSN, RDS2).

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
