Mystic/Junior/Seton Hall
Tyler hit .429 this week with three doubles, two home runs and two walks as the Schooners went 4-1. He struck out just twice in five games. Tyler' s OPS of 1.335 and .857 slugging percentage led the NECBL
Pitcher of the Week
LHP Scott Squier
North Adams/Junior/Hawaii
Scott went 1-0 in two starts, throwing 13 shutout innings, striking out 15 and allowing just six hits and two walks. He leads the NECBL in strikeouts and he has a WHIP of .62

2B Troy Black (Sanford/Jr/UMaine)- Hit .533 in Sanford' s first five games
CF Zach Lauricella (Keene/Soph/St. John' s)- Hit .364 with two homers, two doubles and 4 RBI
OF Mark Podlas (Vermont/Senior/Dayton)- Hit .462 with six RBI, two doubles and a homer
1B Christopher Shaw (New Bedford/Soph/Boston College)- Hit .438 with three doubles and a grand slam
RHP James Bessell (Ocean State/Senior/Dowling)- Has a 0.00 ERA in 9.2 innings. Bessell fanned 10 and has a WHIP this summer of .31
RHP Colin Brown (New Bedford/Sophomore/Holy Cross)- Is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA after allowing three base runners in seven innings
RHP Michael Burke (Holyoke/Senior/Buffalo)- Has an ERA of 0.00 in 16.1 innings and 10 strikeouts
LHP David Hickey (Vermont/Senior/Yale)- Allowed one hit and no walks in six innings, striking out seven
RHP John Miles (Vermont/Sophomore/Missouri)- threw six innings of hitless baseball, fanning four
RHP Josh Prevost (Laconia/Senior/Seton Hall)- Threw a complete game, 2-hit no walk shutout, fanning nine, in what might be the best pitched game of the NECBL summer to date
Mother Nature- 23 of the NECBL's first 44 games were rain shortened or postponed due to the wet stuff. All we can do is tip our hat.

Alumni Notes- The Major League Draft was held June 6th to June 8th. Mark Appel (Newport '10/1st pick) and Eric Jagielo (North Shore '11/26th pick) were the first round selections of the Astros and Yankees respectively...Juan Perez (Holyoke '08) made his Big League debut for the Giants on June 9th, making him the 93rd NECBLer to play in MLB...12 alumni were named to the Baseball America, Louisville Slugger and/or NCBWA All-American teams: Mark Appel (Newport '10), Danny Collins (Laconia '12), L.B.
