
FC Kansas City Players Lead U.S. Women's National Team to Victory

BOSTON (June 15, 2013) - All four FC Kansas City players called to represent the U.S. Women's National Team in the friendly match against South Korea were in Head Coach Tom Sermanni's starting lineup this evening. Kristie Mewis, started the match with her first international goal in the third minute, followed by her Kansas City teammate Lauren Cheney who scored in seventh minute. Named the Budweiser Woman of the Match, Mewis was also joined by Carli Lloyd and Abby Wambach on the score sheet to give Sermanni's team an easy 4-1 win in the first of two international friendlies in the span of six days against Korea Republic in front of more than 13,000 fans at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
