Blind Tiger Brewery Re-Signs with RoadRunnersMay 6, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL) - Topeka RoadRunners
"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Blind Tiger Brewery," said Joe Clark, the RoadRunners Executive Director of Business Operations. "Over the years, Blind Tiger Brewery has been a touchstone for our fans and players and it was one of our top priorities this offseason to keep them in the family."
When the team is playing on the road, RoadRunners fans will be able to watch the games in the comfort of the Blind Tiger Brewery lounge. Fans can expect the same high quality service and excellent food that has always been a staple of the Blind Tiger Brewery experience. Additionally, after every Saturday night home game, fans can join the RoadRunners players and staff at Blind Tiger for the Post Game Party. Dates and times are subject to change.
"We at the Blind Tiger Brewery are delighted to once again partner with the Topeka RoadRunners Hockey Team for the up coming season," said Jay Ives, owner of the Blind Tiger Brewery "The community of hockey fans in Topeka are great people and we love serving them. Join in on the fun and excitement. Come to the Blind Tiger Brewery at 37th St. and Kansas Ave. to see the away games on flat screen TVs and on Saturday nights after the games to meet the players and coaches."
The Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant first opened its doors for business in May 1995, becoming the first microbrewery in the city. The Blind Tiger Brewery was named after the Prohibition-era custom of displaying stuffed tigers to alert patrons to speakeasies or the availability of alcohol. True to their name, Blind Tiger Brewery serves Craft Beers with usually a least a dozen beer styles on tap, all of which are brewed here locally. The Blind Tiger Brewery is, in itself, a huge establishment, with an incredible multi-level interior. Seating capacity rests at 300 on eight different levels, including an outdoor deck. Their unique lighting and richly decorated cedar interior creates an ambience for everyone to enjoy. Their own special bar and lounge offers full menu service with seating for 150. Patrons can catch their favorite sporting event on one of 20 televisions.
The Topeka RoadRunners have helped over 200 players earn college scholarships. While the RoadRunners commitment to excellence on the ice is strong, their determination to give back to the community off the ice is even more so. With partnerships with the VA Hospital, the Kansas National Guard, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, St. Francis Hospital, The United Way, the Topeka Rescue Mission, SADD, local law enforcement and firefighters, the RoadRunners have endeavored to help make Topeka an even better place to live.
