Vancouver, British Columbia (April 30, 2013) - Regardless of what occurred at Commonwealth last week - FC Edmonton will be looking to play another entertaining and crowd pleasing game as it aims to make it to the finals of the Amway Canadian Championships (ACC) tomorrow night.

FC Edmonton went down early in the first leg of the ACC against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC side. However, the Eddies were able to equalize shortly after and then eventually took the lead heading into the half. It took two quick goals at the end of the match for the Whitecaps to secure the 3-2 win.

The Eddies need to win by two goals if they hope to move on.

"This is a game we've been looking forward to for a while now," said FC Edmonton head coach Colin Miller, who is suspended for this match after getting sent off last week. "If the team plays as well as they did last week, I can't ask for anything more. Their attitude and work ethic leading up to this match has been superb."

The Eddies also go into this match with their first league win under their belts. Playing against the San Antonio Scorpions on Sunday April 28, it was a first half penalty taken by midfielder Shaun Saiko that sealed FCE's first win of the year.

The Whitecaps also improved their league play over the weekend - earning a late draw versus FC Dallas. Again, the two goals came late in the game by Kekuta Manneh and Camilo Sanvezzo.

FC Edmonton continue with their third game in eight days against the Tampa Bay Rowdies in St Petersburg on Saturday May 4, 5:30 p.m. MT K.O.

Fans can watch both the Amway match against Vancouver and the NASL game versus the Rowdies at the Pint off Whyte. A live stream will be available on www.fcedmonton.com for the NASL league game only. The ACC match vs. the Vancouver Whitecaps FC will be broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet.
